Born in Tokyo. Graduated from The Faculty of Policy Management, KEIO University (SFC), Invented a new style of music called "Wa-Bossa", which is a combination of Koto (Japanese traditional strings instrument) and saxophone (Western wind instrument). Started activities in 2000 and has been active in many places including Tokyo, Okinawa, New York, Vietnam, and India, with unit’s name of JAQUWA.
Released a requiem album, "pArfait Amour", for the victims of 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001. Went to NY by himself. At midnight of Christmas Eve in 2001, performed Koto at Ground Zero where the removal work of debris was being conducted quietly. In the same year, donated CDs to places such as NY City Hall, churches, and Afghanistan Consulate. Received a letter of appreciation from the NY Mayor, Rudolph Giuliani, at that time, also received a letter of thanks from the next NY Mayor, Michel Bloomberg, respectively. Has been engaging in memorial performances at St. Paul’s Chapel, etc. for victims in NY since then.
In September 2014, 2015, 2016 he continuously held a memorial concert for 9/11 victims and survivors at the NY Buddhist Church. In addition, September 2017, 2018, 2019 consecutively held a tribute concert at Tenri Cultural Institute of New York. On September 30, 2020, due to the expansion of COVID-19, held an online tribute concert for the first time.
Has been released 7th Albums so far and the latest 7th album “white-wAll” released on March 3, 2020, previous 6th album “pArfait Amour Episode II” released as the sequel of requiem album for victims’ of 9/11 attacks on September 2, 2015.
Started the "The Project of School Construction by the Supporters of 1000 People”, which set poverty school children support charity project in Asia since 2006. First project, the construction of practicing room for Tran Cong Ai Junior High School in central Vietnam was successfully completed.
Second Project, continuously supported, held mini concert at Niranjana School, Sujata village, Bodhgaya, Bihar, India in February 2012, December 2019.
On January 18, 2015, his compositions broadcasted at NHK’s TV program “Special edition, Iura Shin’s “Nippon” journey of beauty to mysterious Jomon world, Art Scene of Sunday Museum in Japan.
