Asako Nagashima

Asako is multi-genre pianist, who grew up in Japan before moving to the US for her Master’s degree in Music and Piano performance at NewEngland Conservatory in Boston,MA.


Asako has a Master’s Degree in Music ,Major in Piano Performance from New England Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor’s Degree in Musicology and Piano Performance from Osaka University of The Arts.


Asako has performed for the 20th Century Composers Piano Festival at William Hall as well as the 35th Anniversary of ABC( Asahi Broadcasting Corporation) at Osaka Symphony Hall and The Osaka New Artist Concert at Piloti Hall. 


She performed as a special guest every summer since 2015 at Royal Horse in Osaka ,Japan in collaboration with Gospel Choir Group ,Piano Duo. She had also given many workshops in Japan.


Asako created the fashion show music as the Music Director for Japan festival Boston in 2016. 


She has performed piano for more than move festival at Heter park in Cambridge,MA in 2019 and at the Mosesian Center for The Arts in Watertown MA for many events and shows for many years.


Asako has been a Music director at  Watertown children’s theatre for more than 10 years for over 30 productions (see credits in music direction page) and served as an accompanist in Watertown Public Schools as well as for many local vocalists and strings players .

She is an active Private Piano teacher at her own piano studio for many years.


Currently a member of the NEPTA (the New England Piano Teacher Association) 


During the Pandemic,Asako has been creating a music videos on YouTube as a long-term project ,called” StayHome Project” to help others heal through these difficult times with music.
